Global Crossing offers a 10 Gbps EtherWave Service that is generally available via LAN-PHY and WAN-PHY interfaces in Europe, North America and the United Kingdom and may be available on an Individual Case Basis (ICB) in Latin America and other markets.
Ethernet Wavelengths is perfect for those with rapid growth of large bandwidth applications and eager to lower costs while looking for the ease of managing this service. The performance and error reporting of 10G EtherWave service match that of traditional SONET/SDH interfaces, while costs, especially using LAN PHY, may be significantly lower. Further, in addition to potentially dramatic cost savings, most network managers are familiar with Ethernet interfaces in the Local Area Network (LAN) environment and will easily make a smooth transition to supporting EtherWave service in a Wide Area Network (WAN).
