Gary Breauninger

North America and Worldwide Carrier Services

Gary Breauninger is Global Crossing's Chief Financial Officer for North America and Worldwide Carrier Services. In this role, he focuses his extensive finance and customer skills on creating the capabilities and tools to manage and monitor regional accountability for profit and loss in these expansive markets. Mr. Breauninger's responsibilities include regional business planning and forecasting, sales forecasting, productivity analysis, and incentive compensation management. In addition, he manages gross margin performance analysis and optimization planning along with customer-level profitability analysis and prioritization of success-based capital expenditures.

Previously, Mr. Breauninger was Global Crossing's chief administrative officer, where he led the office of the CEO and Global Crossing's human resources department, ensuring close alignment across all functions within the company. In addition, Mr. Breauninger led the strategy and corporate development team and co-managed the Global Crossing Operational Performance (GCOP) unit, overseeing all functional reviews, planning, and performance metrics globally.

Previously, Mr. Breauninger also served as chief marketing officer, overseeing product management and development, as well as marketing and communications globally for the company. Prior to that Mr. Breauninger was senior vice president for planning and business finance at Global Crossing, with oversight of Global Crossing's financial operations. His responsibilities included financial reporting, business planning initiatives and cash management strategies. He also served as the company's financial controller and led credit and collections activities, real estate management and the procurement organization.

Mr. Breauninger's track record of success includes being part of the leadership team that developed Global Crossing's restructuring plan. He was also instrumental in recent bond offerings that raised $350 million for Global Crossing, $400 million for GCUK, as well as $384 million in convertible notes and common stock offerings for the parent company.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Breauninger held a variety of positions in the telecommunications sector. He held several roles at AT&T, including sales, sales operations, customer care and finance. He most recently served as AT&T's senior financial director for business services. He joined Global Crossing as a leader of its global product management, product realization and business development units, taking charge of planning, costing and long-term product planning.

Mr. Breauninger holds a B.S. in industrial management and graphic communication management with a concentration in finance and operations management from Carnegie Mellon University.
