U.S. Origination
Dialing instructions for calls made from the U.S.
Domestic U.S. Calls (or calls to Canada)
- Dial the toll-free number printed on the front of your card.
- At the greeting, enter or speak your ten-digit telephone number and four-digit PIN.
- At the tone, enter or speak the area code + phone number (if applicable, enter your accounting code).
International Calls
- Dial the toll-free number printed on the front of your card.
- At the greeting, enter or speak your ten-digit telephone number and four-digit PIN.
- At the tone, enter or speak 011 + country code + city code + local number (if applicable, enter your accounting code). Note: your calling card PIN must be activated for international service to complete these calls.
International Origination
Dialing instructions for calls made from outside the U.S.
Calling from Canada, Guam, Saipan, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands:
- Dial direct as shown on your calling card.
Calling from other select countries:
- Dial the international toll-free access number of the country from which you're calling.
- At the prompt, enter or speak the international security code. (last four digits of your domestic toll-free card number)
- At the prompt, enter or speak your ten-digit telephone number and four-digit PIN.
- At the prompt, enter or speak the area code and number or 011+ country code + city code + the local number you wish to call.
Note: If the international security code is not entered, or you are calling from a rotary phone, a stateside operator will come on the line to assist you in completing your call. All international origination calls can be completed through the automated system, but you do have the option to speak with a live operator if needed. For assistance in finding international toll-free access numbers, you may also access international operator assistance by following the directions for special features. Third country calling is not allowed from all countries. Toll-free international numbers change frequently. Please call customer service for updates before going overseas.
Calling with the Universal Origination Toll-Free Number
Universal Origination allows you to place calls from participating countries using the same international toll-free number.
- Dial the country code of the participating country from which you are calling followed by 800-7866-6666.
- At the prompt, enter or speak the international security code.(last four digits of your domestic toll-free card number)
- At the prompt, enter or speak your ten-digit telephone number and four-digit PIN.
- At the prompt, enter or speak the area code and number or 011+ country code + city code+ the local number you wish to call.
Note: If the international security code is not entered, or you are calling from a rotary phone, a stateside operator will come on the line to assist you in completing your call. - Say "travel connections" or press 7#.
- When prompted, enter the following:
- 1 (for airlines)
- 2 (for hotels)
- 3 (for car rental companies)
- At the prompt, enter a two-digit travel connections code from the chart above.
Calling Assistance
Directory Assistance
- Say "directory assistance" or press 3# (if applicable, enter your accounting code).
- A Global Crossing operator will ask you for the area code and the name of the party you are trying to call.
- The operator can even complete the call if you wish.
Voice message delivery
- Say "voice message delivery" or press 5# (if applicable, enter your accounting code).
- Enter the area code and telephone number of the person you wish to call. (You may press 8 at any time to undo your last entry).
- When you hear the prompt, record your name and the recipient's name.
- Record your message. Press 9 when you have finished recording.
- To send your message in 15 minutes, hang up. Or, for more options, press 6.
International Operator Assistance
Useful only if international service was added to your card)For a list of participating countries and access numbers, say "international operator assistance" or press 8#.
Call 1-800-466-4600 to order.
Star Rewind
Correct misdialed digits
- Press * to erase misdialed digits.
- Re-enter the entire number.
Speed Dial
Program frequently dialed numbers
To create or change:
- Say "speed dialing" or press 1#.
- Enter 0 or say "zero."
- To select a one-digit speed dial number (one through nine), enter or say the number.
- Enter or say the area code and telephone number that will correspond to that speed dial number.
To use speed dial:
- Say "speed dialing" or press 1# (if applicable, enter your accounting code).
- Enter or say your one-digit speed dial choice.
Multiple calls
Make additional calls without hanging up
To make another call, DO NOT HANG UP
- Press # for two full seconds to recall the main menu.
- Enter or speak the next number you wish to call.
- There is no need to redial your 10-digit telephone number and PIN.
Important Note:
Carefully safeguard your Global Crossing Global Acclaim Calling Card number; you are responsible for calls made with your toll-free Global Crossing Global Acclaim Calling Card number. If your card is ever lost or stolen, contact Customer Service (1-800-466-4600 for Enterprise and 1-800-482-4848 for Residential) immediately so that we may deactivate your Global Crossing Global Acclaim Calling Card number and issue a new card number for you.
