LOOKING GLASS UTILITIES
Looking Glass Utilities provide expanded, drill-down information relative to backbone routing and efficiency of the network. Its capabilities include Traceroute (Router to Host / Router to Router) and Ping (Router to Router / Router to Host).
A more detailed explanation of Looking Glass utilities is provided as follows:
- Router to Router Ping - Allows you to view round trip time between any two Global Crossing nodes, at the same time validating whether a site is "live."
- Router to Host Ping - Allows you to view round trip time between a selected Global Crossing node and a specified IP address or hostname, at the same time validating whether a site is "live."
- Router to Router Traceroute - Allows you to view all router hops encountered in the path between two Global Crossing nodes.
- Router to Host Traceroute - Allows you to view all router hops encountered in the path between a Global Crossing node and a specified address.
- BGP Route Lookup - Displays Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing table entries
