FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Are the latency and packet loss numbers being displayed reflective of performance against my SLA?
Because there are various Global Crossing products which utilize the IP backbone network, and different products may have varied SLA terms and conditions, the information presented provides insight into the general performance of the Global Crossing IP backbone network in key performance areas. However, the information provided is not reflective of performance against customer SLAs. Customers should contact their sales team or client service manager for any questions on, or claims against, their SLAs.
2. How does Global Crossing measure and monitor the network performance in average latency and average packet loss?
See Global Crossing's IP Backbone Network Average Measurements Methodology.
3. Where can I find monthly reporting statistics for Global Crossing?
Customer IP circuit monthly utilization statistics can be accessed through a secure extranet, uCommand.
4. Why is it that while trying to ping/trace route a specified host using the Looking Glass utilities I do not receive any data output?
If you do not see any output, this is in all likelihood due to an intermediate hop (be that router, firewall, or other suitable 'gateway' capable of packet filtering or other security policies) either preventing traffic delivery by administrative design or lack of, or failing in such a way that the destination is not reachable (e.g: the routing table/policy is in a state of flux or update).
