AT&T Government Solutions' Networx Team: Northrop Grumman, EDS, SRA, GTSI, Cingular Wireless, Global Crossing
- "All-star team" of experienced government vendors would offer agencies range of telecommunications, engineering, integration capabilities
Vienna, VA - August 10, 2005 -- AT&T Government Solutions today announced it has signed several of the top government IT vendors in the industry to join its team competing for the General Services Administration's Networx procurement, a 10-year networking and IT contract vehicle with a potential value of $20 billion or more.
The AT&T team, which includes Northrop Grumman Information Technology of McLean, Va.; EDS of Herndon, Va.; GTSI Corp. of Chantilly, Va.; SRA International, Inc., of Fairfax, Va.; Cingular Wireless of Atlanta; and Global Crossing of Florham Park, N.J., would offer agencies a range of telecommunications, engineering and integration services if selected as a winning bidder.
AT&T Government Solutions is preparing bids for both the Networx Universal contract (requiring vendors to offer a full range of network and communications services) and Networx Enterprise (requiring a narrower set of service offerings with less expansive geographic coverage).
"This is an all-star team of proven and trusted government IT vendors," said Lou Addeo, president of AT&T Government Solutions. "I can't imagine a stronger group of companies to deliver the IT services that agencies need today. In addition, this team has the track record, the people and the technology - backed by AT&T Labs -- to help agencies make the transition to the converged IP world of the future."
Addeo said Northrop Grumman, EDS and SRA, all leading government systems integrators, have expertise in such areas as transition planning and implementation, custom design and engineering, managed security services, managed hosting and related information management support services. GTSI, he said, is known for its strength in logistics, asset management, hardware and software procurement; Cingular Wireless for domestic and international voice and data wireless services; and Global Crossing for domestic and international high-bandwidth services and video conferencing.
Addeo said many leading small and medium-sized government communications and IT companies also have joined the AT&T team and will be announced at a later date.
"Our team is committed to delivering great value to agencies, and we'll be ready to hit the ground running next year if we are chosen as a winning bidder," said Addeo. "At AT&T, we're proud to be leading such an accomplished group of companies."
