Global Crossing Introduces Carrier VoIP Enterprise Connect
- Enables carriers to serve enterprise customers with advanced VoIP services beyond their footprint.
- Streamlines enterprise migration to VoIP by delivering known functionality.
Florham Park, NJ - September 19, 2005 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC) today announced the availability of its new Carrier VoIP Enterprise Connect Service™. The service enables carriers to leverage Global Crossing's MPLS-based IP network and high-performance service portfolio to quickly deliver solutions to their enterprise customers.
"We're focused on serving enterprises with global IP services, directly through our enterprise sales force and indirectly with our channel partners," said Anthony Christie, Global Crossing's chief marketing officer. "Our Fast-Track™ partners and switchless resellers will find that they can leverage this offer to deliver enterprise VoIP services quickly, bypassing the costs associated with building their own capabilities."
Currently available in North America, Carrier VoIP Enterprise Connect provides IP connections directly to carriers' end-user locations. The service provides call flow options similar to Global Crossing Carrier VoIP Outbound™ and Global Crossing Carrier VoIP Toll-Free services™, building on Global Crossing's strategy to replicate the functionality of legacy voice services in an IP environment.
Carrier VoIP Enterprise Connect provides the flexibility of multiple IP connection options for enterprises balancing performance and cost imperatives. Enterprises can connect with Global Crossing's IP VPN Service™, IP Transit Service ™, or over the public Internet if a dedicated connection isn't required.
"With Carrier VoIP Enterprise Connect Service, Global Crossing is assisting their carrier customers as they provide VoIP solutions to the enterprise marketplace," stated Joshua Holbrook, senior analyst for telecom services at The Yankee Group. "As a solid provider of VoIP technology with its global backbone network, Global Crossing continues to be a prominent innovator in VoIP services, as enterprises increasingly assess the advantages of converged IP solutions to meet their voice, data and video requirements."
A leader in fully interoperable, secure VoIP services for enterprise and carrier customers, Global Crossing currently runs more than two billion minutes per month of VoIP traffic over its private, global backbone, deployed more than four years ago.
The company's VoIP services deliver carrier-class quality, backed by end-to-end IP service level agreements (SLAs) for jitter, packet loss, availability and latency. Global Crossing was one of the first service providers to announce the replacement of legacy switches with VoIP switches in its network core, enhancing the seamless delivery of converged IP services.
Global Crossing's Fast-Track™ services, a portfolio of wholesale business solutions, enables service providers to increase their speed-to-market and revenue realization by expanding their geographic reach, broadening their range of converged IP service offerings and providing a unified experience to customers around the world.
Service Providers will also benefit from Global Crossing's online management and reporting portal uCommand® to provision voice services and Toll Free enhanced routing features real time, for monitoring bandwidth utilization, to review the call detail records for their end customers, and to create and track trouble tickets.
