Hay Group Deploys Global Crossing's Remote Access Solution Mobile IP Connect

  • Approximately 1,500 Hay Group employees to use Mobile IP Connect for remote network access to a Global Crossing IP VPN from locations around the world.
  • Global Crossing's remote access solution provides greater access options, increased security and cost savings for global management consultancy.

Florham Park, N.J. - July 31, 2007 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced that the Hay Group, a global management consultancy, is now using Global Crossing Mobile IP Connect™ to access their IP VPN service. Mobile IP Connect is a remote access solution that enables mobile and remote workers to gain secure Internet access from tens of thousands of WiFi and broadband "hot spots" and 35,000 dial access points in more than 160 countries around the world.

Global Crossing recently rolled out Mobile IP Connect to 300 Hay Group users in the U.S., further expanding the companies' existing relationship. Roughly 1,200 international users are also expected to be connected by September 2007.

"Global Crossing's Mobile IP Connect gives us remote access that is easy-to-use, cost-effective, secure and readily available around the globe, improving our consultants' efficiency and availability to serve clients," said Bob Butler, director of corporate information technology, Hay Group. "Our employees work with clients in many diverse locations and need to be able to connect to our network quickly and easily whether they're at a customer's office in Beijing, an industry conference in Sydney or telecommuting from Philadelphia."

Global Crossing provides Mobile IP Connect with iPass (NASDAQ: IPAS), the recognized leader in unifying the management of mobility for enterprises. The service helps increase worker productivity by providing remote and traveling users the ability to collaborate in real-time and to use the same IP applications enjoyed by colleagues on a local area network. By delivering a consistent experience regardless of location, the intuitive interface helps end-users better focus on business and bypass the frustration of managing a different interface at each remote access point.

"As an international consultancy, the Hay Group understands that the Internet and the globalization of business have forever changed the way they serve clients," said Dan Wagner, executive vice president, enterprise services, Global Crossing. "Mobile IP Connect was built for customers just like the Hay Group, so they can provide secure network access for key employees anywhere and at any time. We're delighted to support them by providing easy network access, improving their communications and enhancing their ability to serve clients."

Mobile IP Connect ensures the integrity of proprietary information by configuring corporate security policies before access is granted. Centralized billing and detailed usage reporting offer complete visibility into each end-user's remote access usage and charges, helping finance and IT organizations manage remote access programs and expenses.

Available as part of Global Crossing's suite of fully managed converged IP solutions, Mobile IP Connect may also be integrated with Global Crossing's Remote VPN Access service for a complete remote network-based solution that delivers a fully hosted service in the Global Crossing network. The highly scalable, end-to-end solution delivers simplified management and economic advantages to enterprises around the world.

Global Crossing's IP VPN service is available in more than 600 cities in 60 countries on six continents giving customers extensive network coverage to help keep remote employees connected to the information required to successfully conduct business. It also offers true global reach, scalable connectivity, greater security, multiple access options, and flexible billing options that simplify the customer experience, so the focus is on their core business objectives and not network management.
