Global Crossing Migrates Satellite Stations Ahead of Schedule

Buenos Aires, Argentina - October 8, 2007 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced that its Latin American division has preserved seamless service continuity for its customers by completing the migration of critical satellite stations to three alternative satellites a month ahead of plan.

Migration began in March this year and included the analysis and re-engineering, where necessary, of the networks of affected clients. Capacity upgrades were implemented to finalize the migration and address future needs for services.

Global Crossing Argentina made the decision to migrate its regional clients to other satellites because the satellites' useful lives were coming to an end. By the middle of 2006, Global Crossing's Argentine division had already generated more than 100 Mhz of usage on the Nahuel1 satellite, owned by private operator Nahuelsat S.A., and expected that capacity would satisfy customers' needs through September 2007. Migration was completed in August.

"By planning ahead, we have protected the business continuity of our customers who rely on these satellites for their day-to-day operations," commented Sergio Calviello, who leads data transport product support for Global Crossing's business in Argentina. "Thanks to the collective efforts of our network operations and engineering employees, we migrated all the stations in record time."

Global Crossing has already migrated more than 500 stations across Argentina and another 20 stations in Chile.

"Despite the large number of sites to be migrated, we completed the project in record time, with no significant interruption of services for our customers," added Luis Clemente, vice president of network for the southern cluster.

Satellite services provide customers access to Global Crossing's IP services in areas where no other network reaches - for example, the remote areas where mining, oil, gas and other companies have operations.
