Global Crossing Positioned in Challengers Quadrant for Pan-European Network Service Provider Magic Quadrant
Florham Park, N.J. - December 18, 2008 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the challengers quadrant in the "Magic Quadrant for Pan-European Network Service Providers"* report.
"I believe our 'challengers' position in this Pan-European Magic Quadrant report is validation of our robust strategy to expand across Europe and support enterprise, government and carrier customers," commented Anthony Christie, Global Crossing managing director for EMEA.
"Within our European business, Global Crossing UK revenue for the quarter increased 13 percent year over year and 2 percent sequentially," he continued. "We are seeing the benefits of a controlled 18-month sales re-organization in Europe and of a focus on providing customers with solutions that increase business efficiency."
To be considered for inclusion in this Magic Quadrant, providers must "offer voice, data, managed network services and value-added services to enterprise customers across multiple geographies in Europe," among other criteria. Each vendor was evaluated on a set of criteria including having "sales and support, and deliver services to customers based in the U.K., France,Germany and Italy, plus at least one of the following regions: Benelux, Southern Europe, the Nordic countries, or Central and Eastern Europe;" and generating "at least €100 million in enterprise network service revenue contracted in Europe."
