Global Crossing Announces Virtual Hosting Solution in Latin America

Provides flexibility, higher productivity, increased efficiency and "green" IT

Buenos Aires, Argentina - June 9, 2009 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it has launched its Virtual Hosting Solution for Latin America. Virtual Hosting benefits enterprises by allowing them to grow their businesses, optimize their resources, and improve efficiency, all while reducing expenditures.

Together with other Global Crossing services, such as storage area network, backup, network monitoring, managed security, and operating systems and applications administration, Virtual Hosting allows enterprises to carry on key IT projects that enable dynamic growth with maximum flexibility, while reducing the capital expenditures related to physical servers, including the costs of power, space and cooling - as well as carbon emissions.

"Today it´s not enough simply having applications that work," explained Juan Carlos Martinez, senior vice president of data center, security and outsourcing for Global Crossing Latin America. "Business demands on IT departments require an optimal infrastructure, both technologically and financially. Virtual Hosting enables businesses to meet these sometimes conflicting demands."

Virtual Hosting solutions that have been active for more than two years for some customers in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia, are now available for the whole region, as part of the IT and Security solutions offered by Global Crossing's 15 world-class Data Centers in the region.

Virtual Hosting turns usually complex processes into simple ones such as Service Delivery, Service Assurance, Problem Management, Capacity Management, and Patch Management, reducing diagnosis and implementation timeframes, as well as decreasing risks. Among its many applications, Virtual Hosting can be used to segregate development, testing and production environments; Intranets; files repositories and application servers; data base servers; and seamless e-commerce services.

Global Crossing's growing data center footprint currently offers collocation facilities in 60 major cities around the world, and 17 world-class data centers that are focused on managed services in the main business centers of Latin America, North America and Europe. These centers provide ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) solutions to Global Crossing enterprise and carrier customers who have a need for off-premise and virtual solutions. Global Crossing hosting facilities enable customers to link sites seamlessly - with consistent and similar services - to virtually any location within the reach and capacity of one of the world's most extensive global IP networks.
