Global Crossing Completes Network Expansion for GMS in Ecuador
New platform helps GMS achieve 50 percent growth.
Quito, Ecuador - March 18, 2009 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced that it has completed a significant telecommunications and IT solutions upgrade and expansion for GMS, which has been a Global Crossing customer for nine years.
GMS - considered the best IT consulting firm in Ecuador, according to Bizz Awards 2008 - integrated key services by outsourcing its data center to Global Crossing and switching from a Clear Channel TDM network to Global Crossing's IP MPLS network. This robust, flexible and efficient new technology platform was a factor in GMS's ability to grow its business 50 percent in 2008.
GMS specializes in the integration of high value-added and customized solutions designed according to its customers' specific requests. It has enhanced operations in the domestic market, improved its levels of service and diversified its product portfolio thanks to Global Crossing's support.
"Great progress has been made in the past nine years of joint work, and we are pleased to have Global Crossing as our primary telecommunications and IT provider," said Esteban Lubensky, general manager of GMS.
"Global Crossing's support brings trust and reliability to our end customers," he said. "We expanded our domestic market 50 percent in 2008 by means of our new offices in the city of Guayaquil, and through a successful channel program. This growth was sustained by the implementation of ITIL's [Information Technology Infrastructure Library] best international practices, as well as by enhancing our products and services portfolio."
"We are delighted with GMS's choice of Global Crossing to help them achieve their goals for growth," stated Diego Hernández, head sales and country manager of Global Crossing in Ecuador. "We are meeting our growth objectives together by delivering reliable, state-of-the-art IP and information solutions, based on our know-how and expertise."
The main services implemented by Global Crossing for GMS are data transmission, Internet, Data Center, and voice services. Global Crossing's business dynamic architecture solutions solve the typical asynchrony issues between business needs and requested technologies, thus enabling the development and application of integrated and converged solutions in any rank, acting in synchrony on the key communications and information management components: i.e. Accessibility, Security, Continuity, Productivity, and Collaboration.
