In wrapping up 2005, I would like to
highlight the new services, capabilities and network
reach Global Crossing recently rolled out to help
you meet the demands of your customers. Of note: In
October we extended our reach and now offer IP VPN
to 12 key markets in mainland China through
an agreement with CPC Net. With the recent
upgrades to our IP VPN service and overall
enhancements to our IP convergence capabilities, we
now offer preserved routing protocols, IPv6 support,
and dynamic routing with remote VPN for improved
routing efficiency, greater security, improved host
mobility and lower administration costs.
Also
in this newsletter, our solution experts highlight
Global Crossing’s IP VPN multicast feature and
outline how you can leverage it for your customers.
Offering 3 levels of quality, this service is ideal
to meet the needs of many different end users. For
more on our new multi-cast feature, check out this
edition of Ask the Solution Experts.
The
growth of IP services continues to surge among both
consumers and enterprises. Global Crossing’s white
paper, “IP Convergence: Beyond VoIP, Beyond Cost
Savings,” provides a deep dive into the convergence
drivers and challenges for the enterprise. This
white paper addresses the enterprise customer by
exploring how a converged services model facilitates
meeting both financial and technical goals.
Currently, the paper is #1 on Business Week’s
Top 50 Technology Resource list. Please visit our
website at globalcrossing.com or
Business Week’s site, for the download and see
how you can use this information to address your
enterprise customers.
I
would also like to share with you the news that
Capacity Magazine has bestowed their highest
level award on Global Crossing naming us “Best
Global Wholesale Provider of the Year”! The award
recognizes Global Crossing’s outstanding customer
service, network availability and full suite of
product offerings. This edition’s
Feature
Article presents the recognition in more
detail.
In
the later half of 2005 fixed/mobile convergence and
IMS started to heat up as key topics of industry
focus. In 2006 the topic will be on fire and Global
Crossing kicks off the year with an industry
perspective presented at the
PTC show on 18 January,
2006. Please join us at the Fixed/Mobile
Convergence Session as Anthony Christie, Global
Crossing’s Chief Marketing Officer presents
Fixed/Mobile Convergence:
Panacea or Pipedream? How Fixed Line Carriers Will
Play in the Mobile Game. This session
will be key to help define business plans for a
successful 2006.
The
team and I would like to thank you for your loyalty
and continued partnership. We look forward to
working with you in 2006 and hope to see you at PTC
in January. As always, please share with us your
